Celebrity of the month | Director Constanza Fernández



Constanza Fernández was born in Santiago in Chile in 1973. She graduated from the School of Economics at the Catholic University of Chile. She worked for seven years in investments, whilst at the same time undertaking a master’s degree in Literature at the University of Chile, which swayed and cemented her professional path towards the creative arts. In 2005 she took a diploma in Drama and Screenplay, and in 2010 another in Cultural Management. Fernández started to work professionally in scripts for television and film in 2006. At present she is lecturing on scriptwriting and literature in film schools in Chile. She has three short films, which have been shown internationally, the most recent, “Don’t Ask Me Not to Be Sorry,” was nominated in the Pedro Sienna Awards in 2009. In 2007, Fernández received the Carolina Fund Fellowship for the Development of Ibero American Screenplays and Cinematographic Projects to help aid her most recent feature film, “A Map for Love.”

Reading, watching movies, walking my dog, cooking and answering questionnaires with the help of my son.

In the mountains.
